Jean Eltringham

My name is Jean  Eltringham.  I am a student of Whitireia Journalism School, and am researching the state of homelessness in New Zealand as a result of our current economic climate.

I’m looking at whether it is a matter of choice or a “last resort”, whether the current economic climate has increased homelessness, and also what resources are available to support the homeless.

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has  experienced homelessness, anyone who has family members who are or have been homeless, and anyone who has helped or are currently helping homeless people.

I also aim to find out if any gender or age group is more prevalent, and if there are socio-economic indicators.

Please feel free to comment or suggest blogs that I could follow.
